Coastal Waters Sighted!

Williamsburg had great riding trails and history to take in and the water is close by!! Amy enjoyed a day of touring many of the Williamsburg sites as I rode back toward Richmond on the beautiful Capitol Trail which connects Richmond and Williamsburg👍. We had a delicious southern style fried catfish dinner and shrimp & grits while staying in a B&B across from William &Mary campus! Amy and I wrapped up our visit riding together on the Historical Parkway to Jamestown!

Padres advance!! What an amazing run through the Mets and beating the dreaded Dodgers! Last nights 7th Inning onslaught was heaven sent! These games on the east coast have been finishing 12:30-1:15-2am which has made morning riding an added challenge but well worth watching these nail biter games, intensity plus! What a run for our beloved Padres and now bring on the Phillies⚾️👍Go Pads!!

We have finished riding the Virginia farmlands and now made it to the ocean🚴🏼‍♂️👍 arrived in Virginia Beach and only 94 miles to go to the Outer banks of North Carolina to complete our 3,000 mile journey across the country! Amy was a happy camper walking the beach this morning as we both took in the fresh ocean air! Beautiful day as I rode through Virginia Beach and started down the coast toward North Carolina- Nags Head and Kitty Hawk. Hard to believe we have cycled through 11 states , all kinds of weather , a lot of ups and downs these 10 weeks. Over 100,000 calories burned ( I weigh the same 😳) and a lot of advil consumed!

All of this has been with a “purpose” ( title of Amy’s recent blog) and that is to advance and bring awareness of challenged athletes and how raising funds to help them has such a profound impact in their lives! They are of all ages, live all over the country, each has a unique set of physical challenges and yet each one has found a way and “purpose” by paying it forward and impacting others who were struggling with their disabilities. It’s been an awe inspiring experience meeting so many of these resilient people as we have traveled this great land and have had the privilege of sharing their remarkable stories with you!👏

Thanks for your tremendous support , comments and prayers. We are nearing our fundraising goal! There is still time to join in and help by impacting CAF grants and enabling the SD YMCA to provide free membership to CAF families & individuals. These are game changers for these athletes!! Join us

Onward to the finish line and dipping our bike wheel in the Ocean👍
